On the day we were "supposed" to stop at Christmas Island...they slowed the ship down and a naturalist explained the habitat and layout of the island. At the time, there was no tourism per say, just native settlements. Looking at the internet now...there is either 2 Christmas Islands, or there has been some development since we went in 2008...I will look into this some more!
The 5 days were more sea days than we had initially wanted, but there was a lot to do and a lot of fun activities planned by the staff aboard the Tahitian Princess. One of the events was the "King Neptune" ceremony which was conducted as we crossed the equator.
